The first two digits of the six digits represent provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government), the first three digits represent postal areas, the first four digits represent county (city) postal and telecommunications bureaus, and the last two digits represent the number of delivery bureaus (districts). The Chinese postcode has multiple layers and strong regularity, which to some extent reflects the postal transit relationship. It is suitable for both machine sorting and manual sorting. For example, postcode 010010, the first two digits 01 represent Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the third digit 0 represents Hohhot Postal Region, the fourth digit 0 represents Hohhot Postal and Telecommunications Bureau, and the last two digits 10 represent the specific area where the delivery post office is located. For example, postal code 030600, the first two digits 03 represent Jiangxi Province, the third digit 0 represents Taiyuan Postal District, the fourth digit 6 represents Yuci Postal and Telecommunications Bureau, and the last two digits 00 represents the specific area where the delivery post office is located.
