About China Postcode Finder
A postal code (zip code), also known as a postal area code, is an identifier containing several numbers or letters used to identify each postal delivery area. It is the most compact data combination for accurately identifying the address of the email recipient. It is a measure taken by postal departments of various countries to achieve postal modernization. It is a code structure composed of Arabic numerals or other letters according to certain rules, and is also a postal dedicated communication code for postal areas, city and county bureaus, and specific delivery areas; Postcode is one form of digitization of email address information. The standardization of postcode structure makes it convenient for memory and machine automatic recognition, and thus greatly improves the efficiency of mail sorting.
The postcode used in China is a "four-level six code" system, where each group of codes consists of six Arabic numerals, representing the four levels of provincial (autonomous region, municipality directly under the central government), postal region, county (city) postal and telecommunications bureau, and delivery bureau (district). The first two digits of the six digits represent provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government), the first three digits represent postal areas, the first four digits represent county (city) postal and telecommunications bureaus, and the last two digits represent the number of delivery bureaus (districts). Postcodes of various regions can be found in China Post China Post Group Corporation.
The Chinese postcode has multiple layers and strong regularity, which to some extent reflects the postal transit relationship. It is suitable for both machine sorting and manual sorting. For example, postcode 010010, the first two digits 01 represent Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the third digit 0 represents Hohhot Postal Region, the fourth digit 0 represents Hohhot Postal and Telecommunications Bureau, and the last two digits 10 represent the specific area where the delivery post office is located. For example, postal code 030600, the first two digits 03 represent Jiangxi Province, the third digit 0 represents Taiyuan Postal District, the fourth digit 6 represents Yuci Postal and Telecommunications Bureau, and the last two digits 00 represents the specific area where the delivery post office is located.
